Scholarships

Applications are available in the Financial Aid Office. Applications should be returned to the Financial Aid Office no later than February 1, 2001, unless otherwise noted on the application.
Students who have received other scholarships or awards, have extra-curricular involvement, or are members of organizations must attach a co-curricular activity reporting form (may obtain from the Student Life Office) to each application submitted.

Allen J. Danos, Sr. Memorial Scholarship (1) – $1,000 will be awarded to a student who graduated from a public or private high school with a minimum GPA of 3.25 and a minimum ACT score of 21. Preference will be given to first-time freshmen and dependents of employees of Danos & Curole. The recipient must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree and must be enrolled with at least 15 hours.American Business Women – Amis de Lafourche Scholarship (1) – A $500 scholarship will be awarded an applicant seeking a business or professional career, show financial need and maintains at least a 2.5 GPA each semester.

Candy Fleet Corp. Scholarship (1) – $250 will be awarded to a student who is a dependent of an employee of Candy Fleet or a graduate of Morgan City High School, with a GPA of at least 3.0 and is enrolled in at least 15 hours.

Charlene Crawley Scholarship (1) – $250 will be awarded to a full-time student of at least sophomore standing with a minimum 3.4 GPA, who is a Louisiana resident majoring in English, art, French, history or music.

First American Bank (1) – $500 will be awarded to a full-time student from Assumption parish with a low to moderate family income and a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Gilbert Cheramie Boats, Inc. Scholarship (1) – $500 will be awarded to a dependent of an employee of Gilbert Cheramie Boat with a 3.0 high school GPA and who is enrolled as a full-time student.

Joseph M. Moll III and Pamela Gueydan Moll Scholarship (1) – The recipient of this award must be TOPS qualified and maintain a 3.0 GPA.

Lester and Myrtle Fremin Culinary Scholarship (1) – $250 will be awarded to an employee of Flanagan’s, Fremin’s or Flanagan’s on the Green restaurants. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be a full-time student enrolled in the John Folse Culinary Institute.

L&M Botruc Rental Scholarship (1) – $1,000 will be given to a dependent of an employee of L&M Botruc Rental, or a graduate of South Lafourche High School, with a 3.0 GPA. Applicants must be freshmen enrolled as full-time students and must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Lorraine M. Cook Memorial Scholarship (1) – $1,000 will be awarded to a full-time senior education major who is student teaching this semester. Applicants must have a minimum 3.2 GPA.

Louis St. Martin Scholarship (1) – $500 will be awarded to a full-time nursing student with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

M & L Engines/Industries, Inc. Scholarship (1) – $250 will be awarded to incoming freshmen until the end of the first year. The applicant must be a full-time student, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, and reside in Lafourche or Terrebonne Parish. Priority will be given to dependents of employees of M & L Engines/Industries, Inc.

National Federation of the Blind Scholarship Program – Applicants must be legally blind and must be full-time students in the fall 2001 semester. Applications must be received by March 31. Several scholarships are available.
