Scholarship deadline approaching

Students have until Feb. 8 to apply for scholarships for the Spring semester.

Applications are available in the Financial Aid Office and should be returned there also. Students who have received other scholarships or awards, have extra-curricular involve-

Crime reporting procedures to all employees and students

All employees and students are asked to contact University Police at (985) 448-4911 (Emer- gency) or (985) 448-4480 (Anonymous) with any information leading to the belief that a crime is occurring, has occurred or may occur on campus.

Employees and students may also file a report online though the Silent Witness Program at www.nicholls.edu/apps/police/anonymous_contact.php.

Honorary Doctorate nominations being accepted

All employees, students and alumni are invited to make nominations for the Honorary Doctorate award, which is the highest form of recognition offered by the University and is awarded for demonstrated excellence in the fields of public, affairs, the arts, sciences, hu- manities, business and philanthropy.

Recipients must be distinguished with achievements both relevant and appropriate to the University. Eligibility is restricted to persons of state, national or international statue. Nomi- nations should refer to the criteria set out in the Honorary Degree Policy.

Nomination forms are available at www.nicholls.edu/president/documents and should be submitted to Laynie Barrilleaux, vice president of academic affairs. The deadline is Jan. 20. Nominations will remain active for three years. The honorary degree will be awarded at spring commencement.
