The Colonel volleyball team will compete in the Southland Conference Tournament tomorrow for the second consecutive year, making school history. Despite making it in the tournament, the Colonels had to go through a nail biting experience to qualify.
A Nicholls student died Sunday, Nov. 8 at Tulane Medical Center after a five-year battle with Leukemia. He was 20. Grant Hebert, culinary arts freshman from Morgan City was diagnosed with Leukemia, a cancer of the blood, in 2004. His cancer went into remission from 2005 to 2008 after chemotherapy and 23 blood transfusions.
An awarded journalist and Nicholls graduate will speak to graduating students during fall commencement in December.
The 13th annual Bite of the Arts gala, a fundraiser for various University departments that features a three-course meal followed by a silent and live auction, will be hosted in the Cotillion Ballroom Friday at 6:30 pm. This year's theme is "LaFete de Lyon: Celebrating Chef Paul Bocuse and his World Class Cuisine.
Forty students will represent Nicholls in the 2010 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges." The junior and senior honorees were chosen as national student leaders by a campus nominating committee and editors of the nationwide annual directory.
