Bruce Murphy officially installed as President of Nicholls

President Bruce. T. Murphy’s was officially inaugurated as the fifth president of Nicholls State University last week in the first ceremony of its kind in Nicholls history. Peltier Auditorium was full of students, faculty in full regalia, prominent members of the community and other notable guests to witness the event. Full story

Figaro, Hebert and Henderson battle for starting spot

The quarterbacks of the Nicholls football team are battling to decide who will be the starter in the fall. Last season, three different quarterbacks started for the Colonels. Junior Beaux Hebert started the team’s first game against the Oregon Ducks but left the game with a concussion. Full story

With spring break quickly approaching, many students are flocking to tanning beds, but what they do not realize is that the risks can outweigh the benefits. For Khristian Prestenbach, a resource management junior from Houma, the scars are very real. After tanning five days a week for three years, her dermatologist had to remove two moles containing stage zero melanoma. Full story
